Christmas Present Procrastination Level: Expert

Hey guys. It is too late right now and I am writing a blog post. Go me for being more nuts than I thought, haha!
Anyways, hey look, it's Christmas Day!!! YIPPEE!!!!!
I got all my brothers gifts done. Got my littlest sister's gift done. All yesterday or the day before. And, erm, I may or may not have gotten busy, forgotten to do my other sister's present, and TOTALLY blanked until like... 11ish last night. Then I may or may not have gotten a burst of crazy inspiration and written a short story from then until now.
But seriously. Oh snap. And now I have to do my parents. Um... my dad said 'don't stay up too late'... I wonder if it's past his definition of 'too late'...?
Jesus, I thank You for Your wonderful, awesome inspiration, Pandora, and cute Christmas music that actually appeals to my scarred Christmas music love-hate relationship. And for... coffee. Oh Lord Jesus, thank You for that sweet nectar of life.
And most of all, God, I wanna thank You for coming to earth, wrapping Yourself in human flesh, and being born of a virgin, living and then dying for someone like me. <3 Happy birthday. :)
I know we generally celebrate the Birth of Christ around now, Christmas time, and Easter at Easter time, but... we should celebrate it all year round, because of what He came to do. The story doesn't end at the manger. The story doesn't end at the cross. It's still going, guys. :)
I want to celebrate the birth and death of my Savior all day, every day, because He deserves it! And, for the Guy that has literally, EVERYTHING, it's the least I can do as a sort of birthday present. :)
Love you guys. Merry Christmas.

And do a favor for me... keep Christ at the center of Christmas. It's easy to get caught up in everything else going on, but hey, Jesus is the real reason for the season.

Merry Christmas!

Baby, It's Cold Outside.....

Just kidding! Oh wait... not everybody's from MN... never mind. It's cold outside.
More like windy, but meh, when it's like, -7 and there is no wind at all, you can walk around in a t-shirt. No joke. :D
Okay, now that you all officially think I'm crazy, lez get down to business.
My mom turned on Christmas Jazz music or something... the men singers, maaaannnn they can sing. Mhmm. But these women singers... o.O Somebody just kill me now, please. Their voices ain't my favorite.
Ah, well. It's Christmas time, there is SNOW outside and I mean SNOW. Like, not a ton, but enough where you should probably not wear flats outside, boots are kinda required haha. :)
And I'm cramming to be able to do this Sociology course, trying to get it done before Christmas. In Jesus Name.
God bless you guys! Merry Christmas! Stay warm, and don't worry... you got this. :) Finals, exams, having to sit around the Christmas Dinner table staring at relatives and biting your tongue when that one annoying and opinionated relative opens his or her mouth... yes, we all have them. Haha, don't worry.
And don't forget the real reason for the season. Jesus came and was born for YOU. He loves you way more than anyone ever could. <3
Love ya!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!!!

Twas the day before Thanksgiving, and all through the house, every pot and pan was clanging, and everybody was freaking out...
Well, not in my house, we goin' down south to see the grandparents and some of the other extended family on my momma's side. :) So no freaking out here, except packing. Okay, in a house of four women (whether small or big) and three men (okay, two are only half-men, but you get the point) that's not only a lotta suitcases, but a lotta, "Guys, only ONE bag, we're only staying for THREE days!"
It's pretty quiet right now though, I guess we're all done packing....or maybe it's cuz my dad and youngest brother and sister are out running some last-minute errands.
Which leaves my mom probably packing for herself and my dad, and my other bro and sis chillin' in my room, writing down story ideas.
Yup. My entire family is aspiring to be world-renowned authors.
Anyways, tomorrow's Thanksgiving! Dude. Only a month and three days (or four, or two, depending on which side of the globe you're on) left of the year 2013.
Does time fly or WHAT?
Well, since everybody else and their grandma seems to be doing it, I'll do it too.
A small list of only a tiny fraction of the bajillion zillion things I'm thankful for:
1. My family and my friends. They drive me completely bananas sometimes, but they're mine, and we always got each other's backs. Not everybody can say that. <3
2. Books. They're literally portals into another world. You can become anyone or thing you want when you write/read a book.
3. Jesus. I'm thankful for Him every day, but it still hits me that He bled and died for somebody as crazy, weird and messed up as me. Guys, you do not have to make yourself bleed, because He already bled for you. You don't have to kill yourself, because He already died for you. And He gave you a way to connect with Him when He sacrificed Himself and became the atonement for our sin.
4. Music. I honestly think God gave us music so we could express what's going on in our heads and our hearts without the struggle of having to find words. Sometimes, when words fail, music speaks for us.
5. You. I'm thankful that God made you. I may or may not know you in real life. But I'm still glad He made you. And no, it's not just because you read my blog posts. It's because every single person God makes, He has a special, unique, mind-blowingly awesome purpose for you. Even if everyone around you says that you're a nothing, calls you horrible names, tries to tear you down, etc, it doesn't make you any less important and special and amazing. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. If you weren't worth it, God wouldn't have made you.
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. God bless you.

In the words of the Doctor...."Geronimo!!!!" :D

It's November!

So, it's November, and you know what that means!
Thanksgiving. Food. Family. Friends. Starbucks 'cause some people have exams right before break. NaNoWriMo (shout out to all us crazy writers who're trying to balance school, writing 50,000 words in 30 days or less, and NOT going completely bonkers....or were we that way already and that's why we CAN balance it??? :)). Christmas music all over the place. Christmas decorations getting thrown up all over the place (if you didn't have them up already, or was too lazy to take it all down last year).
Thankful posts allllllllll ovvvveerrrrrrr theeeee plaaaaccceeeee.
Which is awesome, ya know. Haha. Well, quick update on college stuff, doing pretty good, I'm still alive and kicking! Pray for me, can't afford to get sick. FOR REAL. And stress+lack of motivation apparently = me getting sick. (-_-) I know, I'm not the only one.
But hey, I'm thankful that I can actually do this stuff. That I'm so busy with school and writing, and that I have a warm bed that I can curl up in and take a nap if I need to. That I have the most AMAZING friends in the world, each one of them is the best and I love 'em to death! That my family's crazy, and that even if me and my siblings don't get along 100% of the time, we still got each other's back.
I could go on, but you're probably pretty bored about hearing what I'm thankful about. Anyways, I hope you have a VERY happy thanksgiving, and that whether you're stressing about 'difficult family members' coming to your house, or school, or whatever, don't forget to stop and think about what you're thankful for, even if there doesn't seem to be anything at all. You're breathing, you're alive, God's still good. See? I just gave you three things to be thankful for. :)

Happy (two weeks before) Thanksgiving! See ya next week!!!
God bless! Love ya!

Happy Halloween and End of October!!!!!

Hey guys!! MAN has this month flown by, at least for me!
Dude, so as you can tell, it's the end of the month, Halloween! Yay!!!
Costumes, candy, creepy decorations and movies galore.
So, my brothers and sisters went trick-or-treating. I decided not to at the last minute, just 'cause I'm a procrastinator and didn't feel like trying to throw together a costume in 5 minutes. So, I stayed home, chilled, and then they came back and, what do ya know, this year everybody decided to get the good kind of candy. (-_-) Yup. They got the GOOD stuff.
And by 'good stuff' I mean Snickers, Crunch's, Kit Kats, etc. The good kind of chocolate.
Haha oh well. Perk of being the oldest of some good kids, they gave me a small portion of their candy. :)
Okay, enough about Halloween. Tomorrow, me and my sister are gonna be in this concert where Phil Keaggy is playing, (if you don't know who this guy is, GOOGLE HIM RIGHT NOW) and it's gonna be awesome. I feel like God's really gonna do something awesome through the choir that we're in, and just work throughout the entire concert. :)
And hey, in case you didn't notice, IT'S THE END OF OCTOBER! Which means that there are only 2 more months in the year of 2013!
Let's take a minute and let that sink in....you good? Ready to keep going? Okay, good.
God's really done some amazing things this year. I've watched kids get the Holy Ghost, people getting baptized, people rededicating their lives to Christ, and felt Him move through me and change some things. It's absolutely awesome. He's not done yet, though! I really am excited about everything else He's gonna do in the remaining two months of 2013!!
God bless you guys, love you all and have a wonderful weekend!

Buh-bye 'till next time!

College Week 7ish :)

Hey guys!!!
Thursdays are very beautiful days. They're right before Fridays, right after Wednesdays, aaaaannnddd guh-REAT days to get a 94% on your first college exam. :)
Yup, this chick is one VERY happy girl right now, haha!!
Not to mention, there's a Church 'Refreshing' Conference that I'm going to tomorrow night, and right after that (IF she ever texts me back, grrr....) I'mma have a sleepover with one of my best friends, YAY!!!!
Okay, so, enough about me and my personal happiness. I know a lot of you have had a hard week. School ain't always so fun, the kids and even some of the teachers can be pretty immature, and life just plain stinks.
Keep your head up, 'kay? I don't know who all reads these posts, but I DO know that you're amazing, and that God has some amazing plans for you, and that you're worth so much more than you could ever have imagined. :) You're always gonna have someone who loves you, even if you don't feel it, and someone who's always there for you, even if you don't know it.
God's good. You are blessed. And if nobody else will say it, then I will. I'm glad you're alive. :)

God bless you all in Jesus Name, and have a great rest of the week! :)

College Week 6

Hey guys!!!
So, I am in a bit of a scary situation. It's called, 'Studying for My First Big Exam'. Yup. I'm taking it this Monday.
So, pray for me, haha. I'm gonna need it.
Okay, that aside, college has been going pretty great. Been kinda sick recently, but not too sick thank the Lord! God's been doing some great things, hallelujah!!!
I got to hang out with some great friends yesterday at a birthday party, and we got to catch up, talk about what God's doing in our churches and our lives, and just in general have a good time fellowshipping! Oh yeah, and we went go-karting. First time in my life, and now I am sooo addicted haha! Nothing like strapping a helmet on and going as fast as you possibly can. :D
I hope you guys have a great rest of your weekend!!!

God bless!!!

College Week 5

Sorry I forgot to post last week guys!! Literally been swamped with college work. That stuff is crazy, man!
Anyways, hey, IT'S OCTOBER!!!!! Leaves are falling off the trees, making a huge mess of the driveways, everything's turning different colors, it's finally getting into what I will now affectionately refer to as, "The Time of Sweaters, Hoodies, Tights, Warm Drinks and Pumpkins," and it's just a great time to be alive, you know?
You know when you're having a rough day, and then somebody says something to you or you read something and it just completely turns your day around? Great feeling, right? That happened to me today. There I was, just scrolling down my Facebook News Feed, and BAM! One of my friends had posted a picture of the inside of his garage, 'thanking' it for housing his car. And then he said something pretty awesome too: "Hey you, reading this. Yeah, you with the face. Have a great day. :) Just like my car lives in my garage, let God live in you."
I know, kinda a cheesy thing to turn my day around, and it wasn't directly pointed at me, but it still felt good that somebody had taken the time to consider everybody else around him and wish them a good day. So to all of you reading this, you're amazing and wonderful and awesome and have your own special talents, and I hope you have a great Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and so on. :)

God bless!!!
Love you guys!! <3

College Week 3

Hey guys!! I know I'm a little late with this post, but I was swamped with work on Tuesday and Wednesday. This college stuff, man, it really IS that hard sometimes, haha.
So, right now, I'm doing this college course called "Comparative Worldviews", where it shows you different worldviews from a Christian perspective. It's really interesting, but also extremely heartbreaking.
See, right now I'm going through the Naturalist section of this course. When I realized that people really believe that there is no purpose to life, that everything is just an accident, it breaks my heart. People really believe that they're just natural accidents, which basically leads to them thinking one of two things: "I'm just a piece of trash, so what's the point of me living?" or, "I'm gonna do whatever I want, whenever I want, because there's no point, no ultimate purpose to life, and you only live once so might as well live it up."
There are the in-between thinkers, but those two are basically the main ones.
Oh yeah, and during all of this, wanna know another one of my college assignments I'm supposed to do? Memorize Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech, "I Have a Dream". Yeah, those two don't exactly mix well together. You go from literally being all energized and ready to make a difference to depressed because you're learning about people who think there's no meaning to life.
Well, enough of my ranting/complaining/pity party. I'm glad to know today that God does have a plan for everything and everyone, He wants us to lay our burdens down at His feet and allow Him to come in and take us to higher places, and lead other people to Him. He loves me, He loves you, and there ain't nothing you can ever do that will change that simple fact. :)
Have a great rest of the week, guys. God bless ya, in Jesus' Name!!!

Sayonara, until next week!

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

Hey guys. So, I dunno about you, but I think that it is gorgeous outside! Like, for real. It is COLD.
I think it's safe to say that Fall is basically here. :)
So that brings me to the question... What does fall mean to you?
For me, Fall means hoodies, beautiful colors, hot chocolate, cuddling up in warm blankets outside, no more bugs, lying out on the roof and staring up at the night sky, tights, boots, bonfires, colds, girls actually wearing clothes... ya know, that kind of stuff. ;D
Honestly, Fall is my favorite season, besides Winter. Yup, I'm weird, haha, but it's true. I love cold, it means I get to wear my favorite hoodie, tights, boots, skirt and get to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and read a book or just enjoy the nice cold Autumn day. :)
So what does Fall mean to you? You get to start school? Football games? The other random reasons I just listed? Have an excuse to cuddle? Too much homework and all-nighters and coffee? Pumpkin spice lattes?
Whatever your reason or reasons are, take them and enjoy every moment.
This is actually what I thought about after a super hot summer when I realized that it was finally feeling like Fall:
Hebrews 11:1, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
We've all got faith. We know Fall's gonna come, whether we want it to or not. We got faith it's gonna come, and if it doesn't come when we expect it to, we freak, either in a good way or a bad. We prepare for it, because we got faith that it's gonna happen.
Well, I got faith that God's gonna do some epic things this year. So, I'm gonna do something about it. I'm gonna prepare for it. 'Cause faith without works is dead, so if I've got real faith, then I've gotta do something about it. If you got faith, then you gotta do something about it.
So those of you wishing it was already June/end of May/whenever school lets out for you, instead of having faith that you're gonna have a horrible school year, or just year in general, have faith that you're gonna have a great one. You're the only one who can make that choice, that no matter what hits you, you won't let it get you down. You have to make an effort to have a good day/season/year. You can't rely on everybody around you to try to make your day a good one. Do it yourself. :)
Anyways, random update on college, it's going pretty good! Came back from a youth missions trip with a cold and close to no sleep, but it was totally worth it and taking off a day from my college work. :D

So, God bless you guys. And have a great Fall!!!

Sayonara!!

First week of school status: Alive and still kickin'!!

Hey guys. Well, it's been a week since school started. And...I have survived my first week of college courses!!!
........*chirp chirp, chirp chirp*..........
Now, now, don't get all emotional on me. There are plenty of other kids who've just had their first week of college too. (-_-) Anyways, it's been going okay, other than one day when I literally wanted to shoot something because I was getting frustrated at the Phonetic Number List. Don't ask, I still don't understand why. Something about being able to know that the phonetic word for 24 is Nero doesn't seem like a very important thing I'd use in life. (o.0)
So, all humor and school aside, I think we should all take a moment to remember what happened 12 years ago today. I don't remember much about that day, only that I was confused. My mom was freaking out, talking to my dad on the phone, and they wouldn't tell us anything. But now that I know, I just wanna ask you guys to do one thing, if you don't do anything else I ask, then just do this: Send a prayer up for the families that lost someone. If you know someone who lost somebody, then go up to them and tell them that you love them and you're praying for them.
Have a good day, guys. And hey, it's hump day!!! Two more days until the weekend!! :)

God bless you!

First Day of School....... (O.O)

Well guys, it's my first day of school. As in, online COLLEGE classes.
For all of you public schoolers who're like, "Dude, she's sixteen!! HOW IS SHE TAKING COLLEGE CLASSES?!?!" The first two years of college are basically review of high school, so chill out. If I need to take a class for something I didn't cover in my VERY SHORT homeschooled high school career, I'll let you know. (-_-)
So anyways, COLLEGE CLASSES. Yes, they're online. Yes, I was assigned to this lady who's gonna be my 'coach' who helps me keep everything together and scheduled and all that, and I'm gonna be talking to her today at 4:30.
That's not stopping me from FUH-REAKING AYY-OUT!!!! Read that out loud if you didn't get it. If you're don't understand Southern accents....then never mind, haha.
Side not, got nothin' against Southern people, love 'em to death actually, but ya gotta admit, they like to add unneeded syllables to their words. But then again, everybody does that sometimes. :D
So yeah. I'm a bit nervous. Sooo if you don't hear from me after this post....I want to be buried in a casket that's spring-loaded with confetti so that one day, I can make an archaeologist's day REALLY interesting. ;D
Or I wanna be cremated so that my ashes can be 'spread over the water'.
^Only some people will get the ashes reference. ;)
Okay, so I probably won't die. It'll probably be a lot easier than I think and I will probably have a lot of fun this year. I'm determined that this year is gonna be much better than my previous school years, and I'm gonna excel so that I can pursue what I feel like God's calling me to be.
Thanks for bearing with me, guys, while I'm freaking out and hyperventilating and etc. And have the best school year you've ever had. That goes for both of you homeschooled and public schooled kids. :) Be the light God's called you to be, to your friends, family, classmates, everybody you come into contact with. You never know when a simple act of kindness will save someone's life.

God bless you guys, and have a great school year!

So, Who's Started School Yet?!?!

So, I have all of these friends who're starting school. Some of them started a week ago, some started this past Monday, some start today, and then others start like, in September.
Well, I have exciting news. I start online college classes the 3rd of September!!!! Of course, most of all you already know that, haha, but hey, I'm still trying to get over the nervousness and posting about it helps!!!
Give me a moment....
AWOJBFJHGRMYNLJGt.jweotlnsbgkgrthljHIJEGNTWRBAJ<mnzVBHEJT;KL.QJJAHJGBMNTBQJAKNFBAL.BNJ/;ALB,GNHMAFBNKLZDVMBLKEM;AHNFGKA.K KGHENAJKEJRGHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you. Anyways, how's school going for you public schoolers? You homeschoolers? Some of you crazy homeschooled kids didn't even stop for Summer Break.
Do I have any other homeschooled friends who keep accidentally texting their friends in the middle of the day and MUCH later get an angry text back that goes something like, "DUDE I WAS IN SCHOOL!!"??? No? Just me? Haha, oh well.
So, to all of the people who have started school, have a good year! I'm serious. Don't let anybody tell you you're not good enough. Don't let anybody put you down and don't let anybody stop you from reaching for your hopes and dreams and goals. Hey, the sky ain't the limit anymore! You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to.
And to all of you who haven't started school yet, have a great rest of the summer! :)
Dream big, guys. Reach for the stars, push yourself as hard as you can, and don't let anybody crush your dreams. God gave them to you for a reason, and above all, don't forget to stay prayed up and read your Bible. This school year, while you're learning new things and making new friends, don't forget to get to know God better too, because He really wants you to succeed and loves you, more than anybody else.

God bless you guys!! Love ya!! :)

Can't Believe that the Year is Already more than Half Over......

Guys, can you believe that it's already JULY?!?!?! The year's gone by WAY too fast. Not to mention, so has summer. Lemme see...
Camp, for one, was amazing. Life changing. I felt like I had left something behind, and then realized that I had. It was that old dead stuff that we all carry spiritually, and I'd (spiritually) burned it away at the altar. I also felt a heavy burden for my city and my unsaved loved-ones, and I decided that I'd start really praying for them and watch what God would do.
Oh yeah, and the preaching and teaching we had during the morning and night sessions were absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!! I can't wait for next year. God truly did something in each and every camper's lives this year, and it was amazing to watch and feel it too. :)
I also got to hang out with some of the coolest people around. And freak out some guys accidentally. Who knew that double-jointed elbows could gross out a bunch of guys? I guess I'm just weird. :D
Oh yeah, and went to the grandparents' house on my momma's side. That was pretty great, we went shopping, went to the farm, rode on an ATV, had some of the BEST rolls you will ever taste in your entire LIFE, and to top it all off, we had some good music provided by yours truly and some of the other members in her family. :)
This summer has probably been one of the busiest summers of my life, but it's also been fun. Exhausting? Yes. But it's been awesome. Can't wait to see how the rest of it turns out!
Oh yeah, and one more thing....I'M STARTING COLLEGE CLASSES IN THE FALL!!!!! (O.O)
Pray for me, guys. I'm scared to death, haha. They're online college courses, but still. I'm scared outta my mind, haha!!
Hope you guys have a great summer! Keep smilin'. :)

God bless ya!!

Storms, Rain, and Other Forces of Nature........

Well, guys, I'm gonna update today just because I ain't gonna be here next week to write another blogpost, 'cause I'll be AT CAMP!!!!!!!!!
adefgbhtuij34nwasflokijbh3QEGROI348YU672498UJHBKNGUWGH9gubjnt3rquhsbvg12rjn
Anyways. It's been raining and storming a lot, the perfect kind of weather to curl up and:
1. Read a book
2. Play a video game
3. Surf the internet
4. Listen to music and think about life
or,
5. Write a book
I've mainly been doing all of those things, off and on haha.
But I noticed something kinda crazy. I absolutely love 'bad weather'. Blizzards, storms, etc. bring it on!!!! I especially love to dance in the rain, or simply sit still and feel the drops of water fall on my face and soak me to the skin. There's just something so cleansing about it.
It's kind of like when we're going through hard times in life. Most people absolutely hate it. But we can either hate it and wish it away, and just 'get through it', or we can learn to enjoy it and dance in the rain. Because good times are great and all, but come on. It's how we react when we're under pressure that really makes us who we are and builds up our character. It's how we learn how to truly trust in God and praise Him when it's hard, and, as my pastor put it, "sleep in the boat while the storm's raging".
So next time you're going through an especially hard time in life, just remember: Rain cleanses.
And if the pressure feels like it's getting to be too much, pray to God for strength. Motto to live by: "God's got dis!" There's no force of nature greater than someone who is really pushing to get a hold of Jesus Christ, and hey, He created nature. Who better to run to for help than The One who created everything in the first place?
Hope I could lift you awesome people up with that thought. Have a great summer, and I will try to remember to blog about how camp was in terms that don't include something like this:
AH$GN#QGTWeqeWRILKNBGUH4QWEaABIUHJKNwqieulkngqarebfdgaGUIB2JKGARFBVhoiwbkjnfguhaKWRBGBHiKHETGV2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's June and I'm Excited

Well, for just about EVERYBODY school is out. People are going to camps and are away on vacation, chillin' at the pool and a million other things that people do during the summer.
Me? I'm packing for church camp next week, writing, trying to get back in shape, listening to music and chilling in my basement. Fun stuff, chilling in the basement. It beats the way-too-humid weather outside right now, haha.
Oh, and we had our IL Bible Quizzing State Finals. We got 2nd. Which means we're going to Bible Quizzing Nationals down in Louisville, Kentucky in August!!!!!!!! Yeah. I'm excited. And then there's North American Youth Congress right after it.
You know what? 'Excited' is actually an understatement to how I feel about this summer. It's already been pretty awesome, and I can't wait to see what else is gonna happen.
Oh yes, and because it's June, I need to kick my procrastinating backside into high-gear and make sure that the book I wrote for NaNoWriMo last November is ready for publication......

Love you guys and God bless!!!!

P.S. Have an AWESOME summer, people. :) <3

Writing Shtuff......:)

Well, I can't wait until school's done. Gahhhh, parents won't be nagging at me to get up and whether or not I've finished my schoolwork, I really cannot wait for that.
Anyways, been working on various projects, school assignments like writing books for history. Extremely fun, actually, except when it comes to writing a fictional short story about someone during one of the plague-outbreaks of the Middle Ages. YEECHH it's disgusting, what some of those diseases did to a body. Word of advice, unless you have an insanely strong stomach, DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT look up '*insert plague name here* victims' on Google Images.
So anyways, yeah, it's gross. But hey, I get to kill people, right? So there are pluses and minuses....
People, before you reach for that phone and report me to whoever puts people into insane asylums or whatever, do not check me into a clinic, I'm fine. I'm only writing about it, not actually going out and killing people. Good grief, calm down....
Anyways, been writing my other projects (the ones I actually dream up, haha, not the school ones) and jammin' out to TFK. If you need some intense tunes to write to, or just need some new tunes in general, and you happen to like Christian Contemporary/Rock, check 'em out. Pretty sure I've already mentioned them, but who cares? :)
Oh, them and Owl City. His stuff is pop/electronica/synthpop/indietronica music. Epic? You bet it is. Perfect for getting your imagination juices flowing through your brain, haha!!!
Ugh. It's the middle of the week. Wednesday. Don't worry, guys, WEEKEND IS COMING, AND SO IS SUMMER!!!!
Well, until the next time!

Sayonara!!!

It. Is. MAY!!!!

With May, there's supposed to be flowers, sunshine, great weather, and basically just SPRING. The funny thing is, it has been winter, summer, fall-ish weather and spring all within like, the past week! We have had frost,  heat waves, and rainy chilly weather in the past week! And to all my friends from MN, snow about two feet one day, and then suddenly you've got 103 degrees the next!!
But hey, that's weather for ya. And it's been pretty nice out recently, nice enough for me and my sister to start doing daily 15-20 minute jogs/walks.
Another thing about May: school is almost over!!!!!!! For some, it ends the last week of May, others, the first/second week of June.
Which means studying for finals, looking for summer jobs, scrambling to make sure you got your schoolwork for the year done (can I get a "hoo-rah!" from all my fellow homeschoolers?) and of course, getting ready for having a great time this summer.
My summer plans include Bible Quizzing State Finals/Nationals (if we make it haha), Church Camp (SO EXCITED AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!), catching up on sleep, and one of the biggest UPCI youth events ever: YOUTH CONGRESS!!!!!
What're your summer plans? Hit the pool with some friends? Go on vacation? Go to camp? Sleep?
Whatever they are, I hope you have a great summer. And to all of you who're still slogging through school, thinking summer will never come.....STAY STRONG!!! SUMMER REALLY IS COMING!!!!! :)

Ciao!!!

Random Thought #2

We've had some crazy stuff happen this month. Here's a small list:
1. I turned 16. AAAAHHHHH!!!!!! :) Yep.
2. Got to see some old friends at this youth conference in MN. Apostolic Torch Conference at Apostolic Bible Institute. As one of the guys in my youth group would say, "It was TOO RAW!!!"
3. The day we left for Torch, it had rained super hard and we saw pictures of our church building. Umm....there was a lake around it. And that basement had been known to flood. And we had ALL OF OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL STUFF DOWN THERE!!!! And it was completely dry.
*Pauses in creating list* "Okay, guys, those of you who are crazy, do a little victory dance for me because GOD PROTECTED THAT BUILDING FROM HORRIBLE DAMAGE!!!!!
"Ahem. Moving on now." :)
4. I've begun to realize what kind of ministry God wants me to do, and where I'm gonna go for college and stuff. And when you're down and out and you feel completely alone and that God's not even there, just wait and keep holding on a little bit longer, because the darkest hour of the night is right before the dawn of a new morning. It seems so hard right now, I know, and sometimes all you can do is bury your head in the pillow and cry or just sleep, but I promise, Jesus is still there by your side, and one day you will see how because of what you went through, He has molded you into the person that He wants you to be. God's way is waaayyyy better than our way, trust me.
Saw this funny meme once, where God was showing someone where He was walking beside them. The conversation went kind of like this:
God: *Points at the footprints in the sand* "That's where I was walking beside you...." *Points again* "And that's where I dragged you....yeah, you were kicking and screaming...."
I'm gonna go Bible Quizzer on ya and pull out Psalms 37:5, which says, "Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass." Whatever IT is to you, He WILL bring it to pass. You just gotta trust Him, gotta commit yourself to Him, and if you're getting tired of me preaching at you, I'm sorry, but I ain't gonna stop haha!! If you're reading this, you're still interested obviously.
But seriously, God loves you. One of my guy friends said, "We are under God's protection, but He will not protect us from something He can use to perfect us." Those words are too true. So whatever storm you're going through, just keep going. Keep praying. Keep reaching. Just like the blacksmith turns up the heat in his forge to create the perfect conditions to make the metal of a weapon more pure, so God turns up the heat to test US and make US more pure.
I think my preaching streak is done for now haha.
5. God has been changing lives. It's awesome to see.
So tomorrow is Monday. Well, I mean, TODAY is Monday. God bless ya, hope you have an awesome week, and may God work through you and let you see some amazing things happen in your life. :)

Love ya!!!

It's April!!!!

Man, is it April already?!?! You know what that means?!?!
Lemme see....Camp NaNoWriMo for one. School starts back up....mmm, today for me!! Bleh. Hope you guys had a great spring break!!
Hmm, let's not forget April Fool's day!!! How was yours? How many of you guys changed your relationship statuses, played pranks on people, and did something dumb and creative just because of this national Prankster's GO CRAZY Day??
Oh yes, and then there's my birthday, in like, 8 days. Sweet sixteen, here I come!!!
There are a ton of things going on this month. We just had our IL Youth Convention this past weekend, and it was PHENOMENAL!!! The speakers were anointed and their messages were powerful, and we all felt the call of God on our lives. We are Commissioned 4 Life!!! :) And the fellowship was pretty awesome too. Man, hangin' out with some of the CRAZIEST guys in the world made my weekend. :) "Con los terroristas!!!" x)
Sorry, inside joke.
Anyways, we have a ton of Bible quizzing extravaganzas coming up, where we are going to quiz, and quiz, and learn verses, and quiz some more. That alone takes up half my family's weekends this month, and then there's this other conference thingy that me and some of my youth group are going to in MN!!! That is gonna rock.
So, at IYC, (Illinois Youth Convention) they did a TON of Planetshakers songs, and we are rocking out to them RIGHT NOW, so if you need some new tunes to check out, they're pretty awesome. I especially recommend the songs, 'This Is the Day' and 'Let Praise Awaken'. :)
Hope your spring break was awesome!!! HaPpY TuEsDaY gUyS!!! :)

P.S. I'll be posting links to some of my books sometime soon, so keep an eye out for them!!! :)

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!! :D

So, I'm almost done writing a book I did for NaNoWriMo 2012!!!! I am pretty psyched about it. I will have it ready for publishing soon and will post a link to it. Who knows? Maybe somebody will like it.
There's nothing like the feeling of accomplishing something hard, and when it comes to writing, believe me when I say, it's amazing. And having your book in print, holding it for the first time.....almost reminiscent to a mother holding her newborn baby.
So, happy Thursday guys! Random other thing, getting new glasses! They look like a true writer's glasses. Yes.
Okay, you can say it if you have to, go on, do it: "She is such a dork."
And to which I reply: "Yep. And I am PROUD of it!"
:) Love you people. Seriously. I hope the rest of your week is awesome.
Keep pursuing your dreams, even when it's hard.

God bless!

Babysitting!!

So I've been having to babysit a ton, 'cause a ton of people in my church were going to this ministers' conference and there was no childcare. I was kinda nervous, being only 15 and watching kids who're under the age of 5, but it was WAY easier than I thought. These kids are so easily entertained.
It's been a crazy few days. Barbie movies, coloring, making sure the kids don't get into something they're not supposed to get into...ah, the life of a homeschooled teenaged author/babysitter. Great material for books can be found in the simplest of daily tasks. Like changing a diaper, for example.
So, being homeschooled has its perks. Like, being able to get done with school early, being able to have random days off of school, (my mom will make us do school into the summer if we don't get done with all of our books and stuff before summer, though) being able to more fun stuff (like writing, for example) and being a basically on-call babysitter so I can make a little bit of money. It's awesome.
The only downside: I will be so Barbie'd out, and be able to literally quote every single one of those movies from beginning to end by the time this is over. This includes the songs, and the credits. (-_-) Oh well.
Have a great weekend, guys and girls!!!

Sonya out :)

Coffee....:)

I don't know about you, but I think coffee is the bomb. It is awesome. Especially espresso. Well, that, and the caffeine in it.
I can function without it. I may be the She-wolf of the Stuff of Nightmares that put logical-thinking adults into insane asylums, but yeah, I can go without it.
Anyways, coffee wakes people up, right? At least, that's its main purpose. "Wake up and smell the coffee!" Those coffee commercials that make you cry because, 'John's home from the war and he makes the best coffee'. Random thought: Those Folgers commercials are better love stories than Twilight. :D
Well, coffee has played an excellent role in many, many, MANY author's lives, young and old. Coffee shops with free wifi, especially during those NaNoWriMo days, are where it's happening.
Plus, if you're a fan of John Flanagan's books, Ranger's Apprentice and Brotherband Chronicles, you know that everybody drinks coffee in them.
Well, I need to get back to writing, speaking of which. It's going okay, nobody's hurt. Just dead. :D
I know this is a bit of an oxymoron, but have a fan-stinkin'-tastic Monday :)

Catch ya later!

It has been an Awesome Weekend.....

So first off, when you live next to the Pastor and his wife, you tend to help out a lot over at their house because of their crazily hectic lives. They had a 'marriage night' thingy for the married couples in my church this past Friday, and I helped decorate and set up stuff and clean up after and stayed at their house until around 1:30 a.m. THEN, my brothers and youngest sister had a Bible Quizzing Tournament in the morning, and my youngest brother asked me to wake him up at 3:45, so I was like, "Why not just stay up the extra 2 hours?" And then I finally took a power nap around 11 a.m.
So, running off of 3 hours of sleep, I then proceed to go to Youth Group, and we don't get to bed until around 1:30, again. And then I wake up early, around 8:30ish this morning, and then get to church around 11 for Quiz Practice!!!!
Yep, boys and girls, it's been that kind of weekend, and I thank God for today being a day off of school.
Yes, we take days off of school. Just 'cause I'm homeschooled doesn't mean that school runs my life. :)
So I hope your weekend was great!! Valentine's Day Weekend, woohoo, where all of that candy is now 50% off!!! :)
Love you crazy people, and God bless ya. :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Hey guys, happy valentine's day/single awareness day!!! Don't worry, all you single people out there, unless they're married or seriously committed or outta high school, we can laugh in a few months about how so-and-so broke up with that person they supposedly 'loved'.
Guys, let's be honest here. Not very many high school relationships last through high school. If they do, then MAN that is awesome. But most of the time, they don't. Why subject yourself to heartbreak like that when you can easily just avoid it?
I know. It's 'the thing' to be in a relationship. Because you're "In looove". Come on, half the time it's just a feeling and 'cuz you think they're the hottest/most amazing/sweetest creature on the planet. The other half, if you're under a certain age, like, say, 20, refer to above explanation.
People, love isn't something you feel, it's an action. Your momma/daddy/brother/sister/guardian/SOMEBODY took care of you. They wiped your face, cleaned up your puke, changed your diapers, fed and clothed you, when they coulda just thrown you out onto the street. Love is a verb, and you don't just feel it, you live it.
Gonna get spiritual here and say Jesus wasn't hangin' on the cross just to hang there. He could've just wiped Adam and Eve out and started over, but He didn't. He loved YOU enough to SHOW you that. I mean, why would the GOD of the UNIVERSE come down to Earth as a regular human being, be ridiculed, humiliated, falsely accused, let them whip him until his skin was hanging off his body and blood was running down him, carry a cross on his back, be nailed to it, and then hang for however long WITHOUT anesthetics, if He didn't love you? Yes, guys, they had something to dull the pain. They offered it to him, and he didn't take it until literally THE VERY END.
Anyways, I guess what I'm saying is, actively show someone you love them today. Show them you care. And have a good day, a good rest of the week, and a good weekend!!

Love ya!!

--Sonya :)

P.S. Last Saturday, btw, was EPIC. And I didn't die. YAY!!! Haha.
P.S. 2. I kinda like being homeschooled. How many public/private schoolers get to wear p.j.'s every day and have infinite internet access all day long, and drink the bestest coffee in the world to boot?? :D Peace out, guys.

Nervous!!!! (O_O)

Well, for everybody who don't know, I'm a singer. I can sing okay, I guess, and I've been told that I can harmonize with people like nobody's business!!!
But this is the first time ever I'm going to sing with an ensemble. This Saturday. In front of about a bajillion people. And everybody else who's singing in the ensemble are grownups.
One moment, please, while I vent out my nervousness... HIAPONGBEKMIphLNYTWFDIPOLIGKSRL3Rqa.
Thank you. Anyways. We're singing this cool song called Forever Reign, and it is, as my pastor's wife would say, "pheNOMENAL!"
But yeah. Singing alto for a rally, where there will be tons of people.....last time I did that, I was also playing guitar....yeah, that didn't go so well. Didn't know the songs well enough + trying to sing harmonies and play lead guitar at the same time = me cringing every time I remember that....
But it all turned out okay in the end. This really nice dude who was playing guitar with me had me step away from the mic and just play. Gave me a few pointers. Day was saved.
And because of all the free time I get from being, ya know, HOMESCHOOLED, I have gotten much better at the guitar.
So, anyways, nervous, nervous, NERVOUS!!!!!! >_<
If you don't hear from me after this Saturday, like, ever, then I probably died of nervousness. Or, the Net was wiped and we're all scrounging around for food and fighting off rabid dogs and zombies.
Don't you just love the creativity of the mind? *facepalm*
Well, happy Thursday, hope it's going good, and to all you fellow teenaged writers, homeschooled kids, or just normal public schoolers, keep up the good work!! And have a good rest of the week.

--Sonya :)

P.S. Thanks for *figuratively* listening to me rant. You guys are the best. Sayonara! :)

FEBRUARY!!!!!!!

Hey guys, guess what?! It's *pauses for dramatic effect* FEBRUARY!!
Which means three things. February Birthdays, Groundhog's Day, and Valentine's Day.
My brother and grandpapa have birthdays in February. Isn't today Groundhog's Day? And, ah, the either best day for those of you who have that 'significant other', or the dreaded day for those of us who are either just fine ridin' solo or really want a boyfriend/girlfriend.
I'm just fine being single. In fact, the way I see it, when you're a teenager trying to figure out life, ain't nobody got time for that! :D
Yes, February 14th, gotta love how you get your singleness thrown in your face. I'm probably gonna spend it watching Doctor Who. :) I'm such a nerd....(-_-)
So enjoy the rest of your weekend and Happy February, guys!!! :)

Over and out!!

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Wow...January is almost over!!!!! 0_o

Guys, not sure if you realize this, but it's January 30th. I don't know about you, but this month sure went by fast!!!
How was your first month of 2013?? Great, so was mine, haha.
So, right now, I'm going to quote one of my FAVORITE lines in Doctor Who (you ever heard of it?? It's absolutely positively one of the best science fiction shows of all time), said by Strax, the 'potato-head' Sontaran.
"Who's that boy?! Look, it's snowing!"
Haaaahaa.....
Anyways. Yeah, it's snowing. I'm pretty pumped about that. Hopefully it'll stay for a while. :)

Ciao!!

It's MONDAY!!!!! -_-

Another day of homeschooling. Another day of math. Another day of helping my siblings with their schoolwork. Another day of getting done waaayyyy earlier than a normal high schooled child. Oh yeah, and another day of eating lunch at 2:30!!!!
Well, besides it being a Monday, it's been actually a pretty smooth day! Another section of Algebra 2 has been conquered!!!!! (surprisingly easy, actually, with a lot of thinking, 'Oh boy, is this stuff just that easy or am I just that stupid?' not sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing, but it was 'just that easy')
Anyways, hope your Monday was good. If it wasn't, I feel for ya, dude. If it was, then congratulations! :)
On the subject of writing, has anybody else had a school English writing project that morphed itself into a full-on possible novel? (-_-) It's getting ridiculous.

Random Thought of the Day #1

So, I'm sick. But, you know, being homeschooled, I can still do my schoolwork. Haha, laaaame. Probably one of the only legitly bad things about being homeschooled. -_-
Anyways, have you ever like, really, actually read the Bible? Like really honestly reeeeaaallllyyy read it? 'Cause I've decided to really read it, and I'm having a hard time wrapping around how completely AWESOME it is that God spoke the word and 'it was'!!! If you really think about it, isn't that amazing?!! God spoke and the world was. He 'made the stars also'. Uh, I don't know about you, but have you seen the pictures that they've released on the Net that they've gotten from the Hubble Telescope? He made the stars also!!!!
It kind of puts everything into perspective, too, about how powerful God really is.
That's just my random thought for the day, enjoy your weekend peoples!!!!! :)

Weekend Madness

Man, it's been a really long weekend.
On Saturday we woke up at 4, left around 5:20ish a.m. to get to a Bible Quizzing Tournament that started at 9:30 a.m., and that went on until around 5 p.m. But hey, it was worth it. My team got 3rd place in the state!
For those of you who don't know what Bible Quizzing is, it's this cool thing where you learn hundreds of Scriptures and get together to test your knowledge of the Word of God. Plus it's super duper intense. For real. And if you want more information, look up: http://www.upcquiz.com/
Anyways, then me and some friends had a sleepover Saturday and Sunday night, (Woohoo for 'no school days'!!!!) and we went to Xtreme Trampoline on Monday.
Now I'm super sore today. Yay.
On the bright side of being super tired and stuff, my writing is going pretty good. Now if only the stories would let me end them instead of going on and on and on and on...:)
Buh bye!!!! :)

Writer's Block and a Confession.....

Gotta love when that horrid, ugly thing, Writer's Block, strikes, right? It's worse than the flu and nothing seems to help.
And for me, the assigned reading my mother has given me (Ivanhoe) is definitely not helping. In fact, it may just be making it worse.
So, I am going to do a small confession. I have missed regular old Algebra 1. When everything made sense and it was simple. My sister is currently doing it, and I must say, it is sooo nice taking a break from Algebra 2 to help her.
Uh oh, some of you Algebra Haters are looking at your computer screen going, "OH SNAP, IT GETS HARDER?!?!"
That's just life. So anyways, I hope your first week back to school from Christmas Break goes smoothly and flies by and that it's awesome. And to you, you Public Schooled kids who might possibly be reading this...I was done with my work today before 10:30. And I'm still in my p.j.'s. Booyah!!
But in all seriousness, I hope your public schooled lives go smoothly as well. I've heard that public school can really be a drag and a war zone for some.
God Bless you amazing people!!! :)

Wednesday, January 2, 2013

Um, Wow. It's 2013!!!!!!

Okay, so GUESS WHAT?!?!?! WE SURVIVED 2012!!!! AMAZING!!!
As most of you probably know, the world was supposed to end in 2012. They were wrong. Again. Great job, guys, trusting your fate to the Mayans. You realize they didn't even see their own destruction comin', right?
Well, Happy New Year!!!! May the year of 2013 be filled with awesomeness.
And to those of you who've made New Year's Resolutions and are actually going to follow through with them...I commend you to the Hall of Fame. Good luck on keeping those resolutions.
I resolve to write more, survive the rest of the school year, and publish more books. Yeah. It's gonna happen. Definitely maybe.
Peace out!!! :)

Update on Life in 2019

It's been a while and there's a reason for that (and that's also why I renamed this blog what I renamed it, HAH!). Drum roll, ...
