It's December!!!!

Wowzers, it's been a LONG time since I last posted. I've been busy, getting over the lack of sleep from November, preparing for the Kid's Christmas Program at my church (we performed the 16th. Let's just say, it was a hit!!!!!) and continuing to write.
So, I have no idea how many people actually read this blog, but I do want to know this: what's your favorite thing about Christmas?
Mine is probably spending time with family, drinking hot cocoa, being snuggled up in a warm, fleecy blanket while watching it snow outside, and of course, opening presents. I'll be honest with you, though, the fact that Doctor Who premiers around then too makes me a very happy girl! :D
So, apparently the world is supposed to end this Friday. Personally, I think that the Mayans just couldn't find a big enough rock to carve the rest of the calendar into. I mean, come on, if they didn't see the Spanish coming, how could they see the end of the world coming?
"Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh." Matthew 25:13.
We don't know when the world is gonna end. I don't mean to preach, but make sure you're right with God, and live like it's the last day of your life for Him. We don't know when He's comin' back, and we're not guaranteed tomorrow, or even the next few minutes!
I've noticed that I've been quoting a ton of songs lately, so brace yourself, I'm about to do it again. It's a song called 'Good to be Alive,' by Jason Grey.

I wanna live, like there's no tomorrow,
Love, like I'm on borrowed time,
It's good to be alive,

I won't take it for granted,
I won't waste another second
All I want is to give You
A life well lived,
To say, 'Thank You'...

<3 Peace out.

NaNoWriMo Day 31......WOOHOO IT'S OVER!!!!

Well, boys and girls, NaNoWriMo is officially over!!!! And guess what? I hit my goal. For both books. One was the regular 50,000 and the other was 30,000.
Add 'em up and what is that big number? Yep! 80K!!!
It was epic. Still haven't actually finished the books though. They both just keep going! Urgh...
Well, I have survived this year. Thank You, Jesus!
I wonder what next year will bring? Probably more insanity. Haha.
Well, good night, or morning, or whatever time of day it is where you are! :)
P.S. Happy December!!!!

NaNoWriMo Day 27......Oh, hello again, Reality!!

Dude, it's been a while since I last posted! So, I'm in the home stretch. Gotta do about 10,000 more words.
"How is this possible? How can she do this, with only three days left?" you ask.
"Uh...coffee?" I reply. One thing is for sure, it's gonna be one stinkin' awesome ride. :)
Well, pray that when I'm finally done that I'm not completely DEAD in time for December. Seriously, I wasn't kidding. I might just crash for a month if I don't get some spiritual help.
ANYWAYS. I'm almost done! Can I get a booyah?!
Really? Nobody? Not even a halfhearted 'yeah....'?? You guys are killin' me.
BTW, Happy (late) Thanksgiving! I hope it was awesome, and that you had some great quality family time. Or at least ate some great food, haha.
Ciao!

NaNoWriMo Day 11......Yahoo!!!

So, it's the 12th, at 12ish a.m. and what am I still doing up??
Very simply answer to this: the internet is still on.
So, anyways, my word count is almost to 20,000 on one of my books, the other one is at over 15,000, and I am one happy girl!!
Day 11: SUCCESS.
Day 12: ....to be continued ;)
Well, good night world!!

NaNoWriMo Day 8......

So I'm truckin' along. My word count's up, I'm feeling good about writing, and I'm trying hard to keep myself motivated and keep track of schoolwork.
Yes, to those of you who think homeschooling is a big joke, we have schoolwork. Algebra II, Chemistry, writing, etc, fills up your day pretty stinking fast. And, unlike you lucky people who can ask an expert about how you do a certain problem, I have to resist the urge to light a match and conduct 'experiments' on my chemistry and math books because nobody in my house has a clue how to do certain problems.
Anyways, Day 8 status: Not sane, never have been, and quite successful!!!
Peace out, and good night. :)

NaNoWriMo Day 6......Meh

So, it's day six. I've been trucking along, getting that word count up. And, guess what happened? I lost most of my "OOPMH!!!" Yeah, you read that right, my motivation is basically gone.
So, here I am, watching the OLD old version of The Parent Trap, with Hayley Mills. Breakin' out the classics, dude!
Actually, I read somewhere that, 'Sometimes, you just need to take a break from writing and do something fun.'
And hey, got some funny inspiration and a bit more ideas for my book(s). Yippee!!!
So, basically, update for today....Success?

NaNoWriMo Day 4: Snap....

So, I was writing this one book, but it sorta went no where. Snap. So, I need some help:
Farmer girl names. Anything. Help me, people, I'm desperate!
She's basically your typical farmer rancher girl, loves horses and helps out on her daddy's ranch. She's not like, a supermodel, the prettiest person in school, but a big deal person sees her in the background of a picture somebody else sent in for this contest thingy, and he immediately wants to meet her because something's different about her.
If you have any ideas, comment, please. Love you people.
BTW her last name is 'Walker', but if you have any other suggestions, they are very much welcome. Haha, thanks!!

NaNoWriMo: Day 1

NaNoWriMo Day One Update: So far, mission is a success. We are typing away at our computers and getting 'er done! We are rockin' it, baby!
So far, one book is at about 4,000 words, and the other is at about 2,000 words. And this is just the first day. SCORE.
I will keep you posted, and try to blog about the whole thing all month long.
And some days, I may refer to it as an adventure akin to Lord of the Rings, or as a battle like, say the UNSC and the Spartans against the Covenant troops, and the Flood.
Guess who's geeking out right now? Yeah, this chick is.
So anyways, day one and we're still going strong. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's only the first day, but I have pledged to do at least 80,000 words.
NaNoWriMo, with a cup of coffee in one hand and the other busily typing away, I can take anything you throw at me. It has been brought.
OOH RAH!!! Over and out!!!

Dreaming....

What's your dream? No, not the bizarre sleeping kind you have after eating cold pepperoni pizza or bad shrimp.
Do you dream of becoming a rock star? A famous author? A doctor? Of just graduating from high school?
Whatever it is, don't you ever give up on that dream. It's something to push for, something to make you keep stretching your limits, something to fight for with all your might.
Like one of my favorite bands said,
"I need to live my dreams not just in my sleep
I've been holed up here but it's time to leave
I need to make my move while I've air to breath...
We were born with wings
We were made to fly
We were meant to live while we're still alive!"
---Superchick, Alive
Listen, the opportunity's not gonna just drop into your lap like in the movies. You have to fight for it!
I want to be a famous author, a public speaker and a plethora of other things, but in order to do any of those things, I need to keep pushing. I need to shoot for the stars, go after my dream, and not give up.
That doesn't mean I won't get discouraged. Dude, we all get discouraged at some point in time.
What defines us is whether or not we get past that and keep going.
So keep going, don't give up, and when life gets ya down...*once again quoting a song from Superchick*
"It feels like I have lost this fight
They think that I am staying down
But I'm not giving up tonight
Tonight the wall is coming down
I am stronger than my fears
This is the mountain that I climb
Got 100 steps to go
Tonight I'll make it 99
One more
Go one more
Yeah, yeah
Don't stop now
Go one more
Yeah, yeah
One more
Go one more
Go one more
Yeah, yeah..."
---Superchick, One More :)

Hey...It's Wednesday!!!!

So, it's been a little over a week since I started this blog. It's October, which means that Halloween is just around the corner!!!! And after that...November!!
For some, that means that Thanksgiving is coming! For others...NaNoWriMo is nearly here!
"What is this, this, NaNoWriMo you speak of?" you ask.
National Novel Writing Month. Write 50,000 words in 30 days.
Big undertaking, right? Honey, you don't know the half of it! :)
Well, I did NaNoWriMo last year. It was really fun! And since I'm homeschooled, I have a ton of time on my hands, so instead of 50,000 words, I did 100,000 words. In under 30 days.
Yes, in case you're wondering, I am crazy.
Now, because of this craziness, and the madness of writing 50,000 words in 30 days, there are a few things that I found very useful:
1. COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE
Yes, I'm 15 years old and I drink coffee.
2. Computer
Sooo much easier than counting every single word you write in a notebook.
3. MORE COFFEE
4. Notebook and pencil
Sometimes, when your story is going nowhere, brainstorming with a notebook and a pencil helps.
5. MORE AND MORE COFFEE
6. Music
Music helps me get into the mood of writing, and having background music while you're writing an epic scene makes it feel more real.
7. Did I mention coffee?
8. Cozy spot to write
9. Cozy blanket to curl up in
10. Writing buddy (optional)
There ya have it, folks. Sonya Noble's list of survival gear for NaNoWriMo.
And because I'm homeschooled, I asked my mom if my English assignment could be NaNoWriMo for the month of November. In your FACE public schoolers!!!! =D
TTFN!!

Firstly....About Me

Hello World!!!
As you can probably tell, I'm a teenaged home schooled author. I'm the oldest of five, and my mom has homeschooled us all since I was, well, in preschool.
Yes, school is a walk in the park, if that walk is at night in Western Chicago.
So, I have loved making up stories since I was little. First, it started as playing one of the best games in the world: Pretend. What grown-ups see: A backyard, a few trees, some sticks and a swing-set. What we see?  We're a group of ninjas with guns and lightsabers, on a mission to kill the Evil Lord of Hades and free the land from His Evilness, but we must first go through the Perilous Lands that will test our abilities and hide from his Evil Minions in the Trees of Safety!
And then when I found out that I could actually write this stuff down on paper, they evolved into something even better.
Now, I'm not saying that every story I ever wrote was this amazing masterpiece that people would one day call 'The Next Hunger Games' or 'Even Better than Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings!' but they did get better.
So. Being a writer is also a walk in the park, except you actually have to walk through that Western Chicago park in the middle of the night. In your mind.
And being a homeschooled author...well, I need something to occupy all of my time, right?

Update on Life in 2019

It's been a while and there's a reason for that (and that's also why I renamed this blog what I renamed it, HAH!). Drum roll, ...
